THE PIA KAKOSEOS' FILM AWARD FOR FEMALE FILM MAKERS

Pia Kakoseos had just about started her film making career when she at the age of twenty-four passed away in cancer. To commemorate Pia and to honor her dreams and ideas which she never had the chance to fulfill, we created The Pia Kakoseos Film Award for Female Film Makers. The aim of this small scale biannual award is to encourage other women to take up film making and to follow Pia’s good example and through the film lens struggle for a peaceful and just world.
